Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 23, 2026
This policy explains how Mundocuento (a children's audio storybook app by The Martinez Labs) handles data. Mundocuento has no ads, no analytics or tracking, and does not sell or share data with third parties for commercial purposes.
1. Controller
The Martinez Labs is the data controller. For any privacy question or to exercise your rights: [email protected].
2. Data the app handles
This is all the data Mundocuento stores on our servers (Google Firebase):
- Anonymous identifier. On launch the app creates an anonymous Firebase Authentication session: a random identifier with no name or email.
- Optional account. If an adult creates an account, we store their email, or the name and email Google returns when choosing “Continue with Google”.
- Reading progress. Per story, the page or percentage read and the last-read date.
- Parental settings. Daily screen-time limit and its duration.
- Reading statistics. Reading and listening minutes per day, session count, completed quizzes and scores.
These stay on the device only: favorites, language, theme, daily reminder, reader preferences, avatar and downloaded audio. We do not collect location, contacts, photos, microphone or biometric data, and the app has no telemetry or crash-reporting SDK.
3. Purposes
To keep the family's progress and settings and restore them on another device, to apply the screen-time limit chosen by adults, and to deliver story narration. Data is not used for advertising or profiling.
4. Narration
Catalog narrations ship inside the app. For a story without bundled audio, the app may request narration from our own cloud service; that request only sends the story identifier and language, never text written by the family.
5. Processors
Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore and Cloud Functions) processes data on our behalf. If you sign in with Google, Google processes that authentication under its own policy. There are no other recipients.
6. Children and families
Mundocuento is designed for children aged 2 to 8, together with their families. External links, sharing, creating an account or signing in, deleting the account, extending the screen-time limit and adult areas are protected by a parental gate (a task an adult solves). Accounts must be created by an adult. We do not ask children for personal data: the anonymous session contains none. If we find an account created by a minor without a guardian's permission, we will delete it.
7. Retention
For as long as the anonymous session or account exists. Deleting the account or data from the app removes progress, settings and statistics from the server, as well as local content on the device.
8. Your rights
You may exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability by writing to [email protected]. You can delete your data yourself in Settings → Delete account and data (see how to delete your account). If you believe your rights were infringed you may complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).
9. Changes
If we change this policy we will publish the new version and its date on this page.
